I love the concept of the local “welcome wagon”, we live in a ridiculously fast pace environment where most everything can be done via an app or digitally and while that is certainly convenient we have lost touch with what is most important: friends, family and community. I love that Welcome Neighbor is holding steady with these “old school” values of being neighborly and reinforcing the concept of community; we have so many ways to virtually connect these days but we are missing that person to person connection and it needs to be restored.

Back in 2015, my husband and I held the luncheon for our daughter's Baptism at Arianna's. It was recommended to us by a family member who frequented the cafe for lunch. Everyone loved the coziness of the cafe and commented on how delicious the food was. We had a few children attend the lunch and they even offered to make the kids grilled cheese sandwiches at the event, even though the additional menu item wasn't discussed at the booking. Their service was so friendly, accommodating and we had such an enjoyable experience, we contacted them again this year to host our son's Baptism.

I sure enjoyed your February Neighborly News and your review of "The Gables Restaurant." You didn't specify what kind of food they serve (guess regular American fare?) and what the food prices were like. Wine seems to always be priced high, but if you can do BYOB, do they have a corkage fee? I will want to visit that place next time I come up from Florida.
I truly enjoy reading all your Neighborly News issues, and I wish I had moved into a neighborhood who had someone like you and your women who help you! When everything is new and you don't know what's good around your area, it really helps.
