Anne and Bob Pounds, founders and proprietors of Welcome Neighbor, are Delaware County natives. We began as entrepreneurs at ages 26 and 28 and left both of our corporate jobs within five months of starting our first business and never looked back. We began building a sales organization that grew to over several thousand people, both learning ourselves and teaching them how to be successful at building a home-based business. Over a twenty-year career we were fortunate to learn from many great mentors on how to succeed in business.
When we found an opportunity to start our welcome service, we were attracted to the community aspect of bringing together good local businesses and new homeowners who were looking for good services and sources. Beginning part-time in 1999, it soon became our full-time work as it grew quickly. We soon needed help and now have a wonderful team of women who help us bring to people who have just moved into their new homes a beautiful welcome basketful of gifts and gift certificates and community connections and resources. 
In January 2022 we celebrated our 23rd year of welcomes and made our 55,000th visit in that same month! We are part of Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, and our team of greeting women also each live in their communities where they visit, so that they are able to help find the cool things to do and places to go.
