Restaurant Review of Morningside Café
Location: 790 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA
Owner: Family owned and operated by the Coley family
Telephone 484-800-8947
Website: www.morningsidecafeglenmills.com
Ambiance: Bright, cheery, clean and organized, with NO TV blaring at you! It is always filled with people gathered to chat and enjoy good food. There are tables and a fresh inviting counter for further seating.
Service: The service is simply unbeatable. As soon as we walk in, we are seated, and then immediately approached by the server. All are friendly and helpful, as well as fun. The food arrives quickly and just as ordered. Our server checked back to make we were completely satisfied, and she asked when we were ready for our pancake dessert, for which we kindly brought new silverware.
Experience: Our experience was recent, on a cold early Spring Sunday. The restaurant was packed, but there was no waiting. We knew just what we wanted to order and placed our order immediately. The table is set with crisp white cloth napkins, which really elevate the experience. We split every part of our meal, knowing that the servings are generous and that we would not go hungry. Eggs Benedict classic: The ham is a thick slice of real ham, not just a thin piece of Canadian bacon. The hollandaise sauce was the best I’ve ever had and generously supplied. The home fries are skin-on big chunks of very flavorful potatoes. After we finished the main course, we shared a giant buttermilk pancake with a super-generous pot of whipped butter and maple syrup. We shared a black coffee and a large orange juice. Except for a hard wooden chair seat, It was a perfect meal!
Menu: Their menu is mind-blowingly creative. I have had the shrimp and grits, Bob loves the creamed chipped beef. There are many more dishes I want to try, like Pops sweet potato and pepper hash, cornbread waffle, lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote, and some other exotic benedicts. The lunch menu is just as interesting.
Total Bill: Are you ready? It was $21, plus tip.
