Established in 2004, the Oxford Karate Institute is the complete martial arts center. Master Fisher’s mission is to provide his students with the best training experience possible. All instructors are internationally certified by the World Tang Soo Do Association, a world leader in martial arts education.
The Oxford Karate Institute is a family-oriented karate center and provides lessons for children and adults of all ages. Programs include: Traditional Tang Soo Do for Little Dragons, Youth Beginners, Youth Advanced, Adult, as well as many specialized programs. Busy parents and grandparents alike are facing the challenge that social media and too much screen time present to young people today, and to the difficulty of teaching children that what they see and hear on those screens is now the way the real works—one where respect, self- control and self-discipline are some of the most important keys to success imaginable. A look at who Master Brian Fisher is:
Master Fisher began Tang Soo Do training in 1986 when he was 12 years old, at Shin Karate in Philadelphia. He spent many hours each day learning from some of the most respected Tang Soo Do instructors in our Association. He soon proved an able martial artist, fierce competitor, and eventually became Chief Instructor at our Headquarters gym where he taught for 6 years.
During his competition days, Master Fisher won many awards and is a three-time Grand Champion at our Region 8 Championship. He is also the first two-time Grand Champion at our World Championships.
Master Fisher is a graduate of Eastern College and has a bachelor's degree in business management. His Tang Soo Do master's thesis was on "Motivational Teaching Techniques" and he loves teaching students of all ages. He received his Master's belt in 2000.
